I had heard a rumor about Gates coming out with a new primary similar to the P85.
And Gerard Karpik (Team Fast) is on board. Rumor? Or BS?:gossip:

I know for a fact that Gerard is working with Gates, has been for a couple years now. As far as what he's working on he has been pretty hush hush about that, all he ever says is just "testing stuff"

Thanks! PIQmn. As far as hush, hush. Not really.
Anyway, if I remember correctly he was a Ski-doo man even though the Blade was far more Polaris. But as I age, my memory is not what it used to be. So I may be all wrong here.:mmph: Anyway! Hopefully we all benefit.

You're correct Pro-8250, back when Gerard was dominating the cross country racing world in the 1970s he was a factory Ski-Doo rider. Yes the Blade had MUCH more Polaris in it than Ski-Doo.

This is the first that I have heard of it. Waiting to hear more.

Dialing up the Google.

Stepping back, the problems poo has had the last few years with the p85 still astounds me. It's about execution, not design. Look how Y can get durability with huge power out of 25 yr old design - but their execution, from materials to finishing, through vendors, is superior. I don't care if 'Team is letting them down', in the end, it's a Polaris, assembled, QC'ed, and warrantied by Polaris. I'm damn doubtful we need yet another design, how about just building it right. Of course, if poo followed this advice, life with the CFI4/2 would have been abit easier, too...
