the bog monster got a hold of my rt1000 on the way back to the truck. rode all day and had an absolute blast! thanx to chris91182 and rmk2112 for towing me to safety. i hope your belt didn't disintegrate!! thought i would share some pics for you guys for some entertainment. funny when it happens to someone else.....or is it?:( i put 108 miles on the sled and it has 470 total. i just became another statistic of Doo's Edsel program. how is it that parts are already obsolete on a sled that has been out of production for only two years?:mad: I'm currently setting up a fund for the revival of my first sled, donations gladly accepted and appreciated:D...j/k

YIKES!

Fixable? Got parts on order yet??

Look at the brite side. Couldn't have picked a better year to blow a motor.

When I wrecked mine there was 30" of snow in my front yard!

LOL now that sucks!! it's fixable, but i spent most of my money on the sled, parts, and gear. i've priced it out to around 800 bucks for a cylinder sleeve, piston, 2 sets of rings and gaskets. i could put it together now, but i need to hold on to some financial "cushion" just in case. hey it could have been worse and you're right, at least there isn't incredible snow right now. i'll keep you posted for sure:beer;

just a thought, when you put it back together, run uni filters!!! i bet the reeds are freaking covered in belt dust.. maybe not your problem.. BUT, just seems to be a very destructive to the poor motors!

my rt ran like $h1t with pods and refilters.. everytime i dipped the nose in snow, it bogged down... put stock airbox back on and runs great now.. thinkin about puttin some silk screen in the stock airbox to keep from sucking up the belt dust.....

fellas the first thing i did was yank the reeds, clean them and the TB.i put k&n filter #rd-0700 with K&N prefilters in my stock box before i ever rode it :D they were very clean compared to pictures of others i have seen. this sled only had 362 miles on it when i put filters on. i did months of researching on dootalk. i should have bought egt gauges, water temp gauge and fuel pressure gauge. i was hoping to get this season through before dropping the $800 on those gauges. i will now!!
