Buying a new chain for my 05 Summit 1000. I allready have geared down to the 20/49 from the 21/49. Im going to go one more a 19/49. Should i get the next smallest chain or is the stock length ok

Don't know, but I heard there was a 51 bottom that would fit an RT (not 100%, but I read it on the internet LOL),,, I would suggest looking as an option to going to the rather smaller radius 19 top,,, (also in a 15 plate), I'm gonna look at that next time I replace my chain,,,

i would get a 15 wide chain before anything else...plenty of folks (including) myself droped down to a 10 top gear with the stock chain and bottom gear, but that was a 151, and i cont remember what the bottom gear was

The RT1000 has so much grunt power at all areas of the powerband, that any gear change/chain change will have little or no impact on the already big power and fast track speed.

Our RT is a rocket, and for what it's worth perhaps the best Doo i have ever owned.....Huge Power and Trouble Free like a sled should be

OT

Biggest thing with trying the 19 is I already have that gear dont need to buy it. But maybe ill look into the 51. Not sure why im even trying a different gearing cuz the sled rips im just curious more then anything.

If you are goign with the 19 top--better get the wider chain for sure.

As for the 51 tooth gear--Turboal was having them made, I do not know where else to have you go to find one.

What elevation are you riding most of the time?

i second OT on the RT just having sick power all around, just clutch it right and call it a great day!!!

the things have gobs of power, so much so its sick!! and its really fun when there aint much rider on it, they really get up and MOVE!!

If you drop to a 19 tooth top sprocket, then yes you will need the shorter chain. And you can use the shorter chain with the 20 tooth. Regardless of what you doo, go with the 15W chain.

A 19 tooth will make it a rip, snortin climber. Had all three and preferred the 19 tooth. It's just a tad on the low side but works better than the 20/49 combo. A 19/51 would be the way to go if T-Al can get em.
