RPM's on these Polairs PWC

I rode a friends waverunner today and one was a 700 twin and the other was a 780 triple.

the 700 would only hit 6000 and the 780 would only hit 6200. Now I am going off of what sleds should be at and that's closer to 8000 for the twin and 8500 for the triple so I wanted to see what fellow sledders knew about these water toys.:face-icon-small-coo

maybe that's what they spin at but there would seem to be more left on the table for power at those rpm's

What years are these? My 97 slt 700 seems to wind out pretty good? But its a total dog at low rpms. Seems to hit a certain rpm and then she purrrs

I am guessing that they are 95-97 Polaris wave runners but not sure? They both seem to run great up to 6000 rpms but then they just stop there and I thought for sure they should scream right up to 8000

1996 SL700 rated 80HP, 6700RPM limit (original CDI)
1996 Hurricane rated 90HP, 6700RPM limit (original CDI)
1997 Hurricane rated 90HP, 7200RPM limit (original CDI)
1997 SL700 rated 82.5HP, 6700RPM limit (original CDI)
1997 SL700 Deluxe rated 85HP, 6700RPM limit (original CDI)
1997 SLT700 rated 85HP, 6700RPM limit (original CDI)
1998 SLH 700 rated 95HP, 7200RPM limit (original CDI)

In 1997 it was raised to 7200RPM for the Hurricane twin only. In 1998 the twins all went to 7200RPM, and 6800RPM for the domestic triples.

Found this over on greenhulk. Hope it helps...

Thanks for checking into that, I knew there had to be some forum for waverunners but the only thing I could find was pwc.com and I posted the question 5 days ago and still no response. so I guess if they hit 6000 or 6200 there not that far off!!
