rpm wire

I bought a gauge that reads rpm. What wire do I hook it to?
I have a service manual, and have checked many AC wires. I got a reading from the AC pwr plug but it reads 9050 at idle. That yellow wire goes directly to the stator.

If it works like an hour meter does, they wrap around a spark plug wire.

no its the cpc redline guage it needs a wire from somewhere?
