A Big Bad THANK YOU to all the search and rescue guys and gals from Routt County and Joe and Nick from the Grand County EMS for all their help yesterday!!! Not to Mention Shanny and Brad for getting my broken *** out of the Ears yesterday after I busted myself up. Ended up with a titanium rod in my leg. Should be stronger now;)

I cant thank all of you enough for your professionalism and expertise. It's really nice to know you guys are there when called upon.
You rock!

OK now we need the story!
Glad you got out and everything is quickly on the mend hopefully.

Nothing says thank you like a donation. ;)

OUCH .... what happened?

Rode a wheelie out of one tree well and held it into the next one... Well the pitch of the sled matched the pitch of the exit of the second well sooo as I was steering with my weight most of which was one my left leg the sled bottomed out hard and the resulting pressure that buckled my leg snapped my fib, and that hurt;)

Shanny and treesaretraction were all over it as moving me didn't seem right, foot pointed a little the wrong way... Routt Co SAR was fricken awesome (sorry I cant recall everybodies name) and came to the rescue with grand co ems (Joe and Nick). Everyone was great and they need MAD PROPS!!!
Thanks everybody

ouch ... dude that had to royally suck .... how far back were you? Did you have cell service? Glad you all made it out OK and everything, that's gotta be rough :(

We weren't too far back maybe five miles southish of 40. The snow was a bit harder than Friday and I didn't huck anything just banging a few tree wells. I guess you never know. We did have cell service and gps coordinates. The biggest thing I had going for me was riding with 2 smart mofos one of which stayed with me to make sure I stayed conscious and the other who went back to meet Sar and Ems to get them on site as fast as possible. It could have been way worse location wise. It's a tib fib yee haa...
Shanny and TreesAreTraction, awesome thanks! Routt County SAR and Grand County EMS kicked ***. The boys and girls up at Yampa Valley Medical Center did an excellent job as well.
Except for the cranky receptionist that can bite me. Ah well she gave us a laugh as Joe and Nick wheeled me in.

I see I screwed up a few dates and spellings in the original post, good drugs.
Bottom line everyone did an outstanding job and I wanted to get the word out!

First off both TreesAreTraction and Shanny on here, they were thinking clearly and had the right equipment to get things rolling fast. Without them I'd likely have been screaming slow crawling Lion Bait. THANKS MEN!

Routt County SAR the only email address I have for them is from the donation link on their home page. I couldn't find any other email addresses for them: treasurer@routtcountysar.org
It was Rescue 5 and unfortunately I can't remember all their names.
Maybe David and Krista and I know there were others sorry guys, I'll blame it on the drugs:) You guys all kicked butt!

Grand County EMS: Nick and Joe were awesome as well! The email I got from their website for their Chief was rjennings@co.grand.co.us

Yampa Valley Medical Center They are in the book. The initial check in queen needed an attitude adjustment, but once you get through the doors to the nurse station/urgent care, Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE else was absolutely fantastic.
Dr. Sisk does great work.

So I don't really have direct emails to the individual professionals but I have sent letters of thanks to both through those listed above and am confident the word will reach the right people.

PM Shanny and TreesAreTraction and thank them, I know I can't say it enough to any of those who helped.

It is a reality check, pretty lucky location, cell service, smart people, superb SAR and EMS, and just a tib/fib break, yet still an emergency situation. No walking out, homemade splinting and riding out which crossed my mind right away would have undoubtedly caused way more damage and I feel confident in saying I would have lost consciousness, which I was barely holding onto for a short while initially...I know, I'm a wuss... First time I felt a 10 on the pain scale in my life.

All I can say for sure is much respect to all of those that spent a large part of their day helping me out. It went like a fricken emergency response training video. We are lucky to have such a well seasoned group of professionals available when the call goes out.

A Big Thanks to everybody and Hopefully someone will learn something from this being posted up, maybe even me:)
