Big Red Cats does snowcat skiing in this area,,, danger if you met up with a cat going up or down some of the very steep roads they make... snocat can't stop going down these roads.

Nice pics Dan! Where did the RCMP have it closed off up there (to Mackie)? Paper said it was going to be closed for a while, can't see them blocking all the routes up there. When I get the 800 put back together I'll drop you an email and take up your offer of a tour up there.

And Teck "spewing steam and stuff" is my bread and butter! :D That's why I don't live in Trail, just work there. :D

nothing is closed anymore, once the body was retrieved, it was re-opened.. Raining in Rossland but snowing just up the hill...

Krazy, those are some great shots you put up! I rode the 7 Summits trail on my mtn bike a couple yrs ago. Cool to see winter pics from across the valley of the ridge the trail traverses. Rossland is a great place. I just might have to bring my sled up there soon cause the snowpack in the Seattle area is a total bust right now.

4000' - 34 inches
5000' - 5'.2"
6000' - 6'.4"

another great dump last night, fresh powder everywhere, but avi danger is considerable in the Rossland Range, I set off a size 2.5 avi yesterday and another on Saturday near Collage creek 6200 feet elevation, north facing slope

Jan 18 / 2010

Norns has around 2 feet more at each elevation above 4000'

Great looking shots Dan, I snapped these a little over a week ago real gloomy day down in the valley once we broke out up top Bluebird sky’s and well worth it!

Count your blessings. I hope we can surpass 4' with the system moving through right now, and then keep everybody alive afterward. Beautiful shots.

Thanks Dan good to hear about the snow I'll be back down after Revy, the Norns needed it those photos were taken on the 9th still what a great day it was. We ran into Hairy Mark and Shawn Hastings and a few of the other boys up top they were making tracks all over. Checked out the new trail over to Airport, the guy's and gal's at the club are sure doing a fine job.
Were leaving tomorrow afternoon for Revy some of the boy’s from the valley couldn’t make it but I am sure it will be a good one.
