Roofing question

OK, time for a new roof. Me, the wife, and kids did the tear off over the weekend....2 layers of "fun". It will be a long time before I do that again. 32 squares of pain.

Anyway, the roofer was supposed to show up Monday AM, rain is in the forcast in a few days, so no problem. Well, of course they didn't sho up until Tuesday PM, and all they got down last night was the ice/water sheild and the tar paper. Rained like crazy this morning for an hour or so.

Roofers are here. I've read conflicting stories of issues putting shingles over wet tar paper. The shingles we are putting up are not 3 tab, they are a different kind of asphalt shingle that give the roof a "layered" look. Is the wet felt going to be a problem?

Wet felt is fine. You just wouldn't want to put the paper over wet plywood or OSB. I'd be happy they got that baby dried in before the rain came.

Yep, saw that one, and a handful of others like it. We do have some wrinkling on the tar paper, but it seems like that causes more issues with the standard 3-tab shingle, not a solid one.

Nope, wet paper won't hurt, first hot day moisture will be gone. However it is hard to keep you footing on.

Just finished having a metal roof put on my guest cabin. Looks great, and will NEVER have to "shingle" it again.

I'm doing mine in "Decra" steel shingles.
If I don't tell ya they are steel, you'd swear they are asphalt.
