Rode stampede today. Got there around 10 this morning and loaded up at 5. I spoke to the ranger up there and asked about the freeway electronic no parking signs and warning about the snowparks supposedly being closed. He stated it was no parking for folks coming off of the freeway...??? I didn't really understand that and didn't ask any further. The lot was plowed and in really great shape.
The groomers were just getting started this evening, actually they were starting to dig them out when I was leaving. The trails were very bumpy and deep! I stayed on the roads pretty much as did everyone else up there and it got packed down some, but still really deep!!!! I didn't get stuck much (2-3 times
) but it seemed I was digging or pulling all day on others' sleds. Spoke to the guy that runs 1 of the groomers and he said they will be there all night grooming with 2 or possibly 3 groomers.
All day there were probably 25-30 rigs in the parking lot. I meant to take my camera today, having charged the batteries just for this day. Left it on the desk this morning, so no pics.
