rod bearing

anyone know the cause of why a rod bearing would go out on a new motor with 600 miles on it
what normally will cause it on a dragon I ve been mixing oil in the gas

"Normally" lower rod bearing failure is lack of oil.

But of course that isn't the only thing... in your case, with so few miles, and the premixing (I assume you are mixing enough or doing it in conjunction with the oiler system), I would think either defect from from the factor or something got down in there (dirt or such) and caused it to wear.

thats what we thought
does anyone know where to get parts for cheaper the place i took it to says that it will cost 300 dollars for the part because you cant buy just the rod and bearing and arm you have to buy the the whole end of the crank

had this same thing happen to a 700 with 600 miles on it, 14 months old, not warrented. I concluded after tear down it was a lean issue, or mabee condensation from summer storage doing some corrosion. not shure. What i did cheep, was bought a bad wreked sled just for the motor. good luck

it cant be to lean Im running the april flash on it which made them richer
could it be water in the fuel causing it to take the bearing with it the cylinder domes were dark they looked perfect

You could probably go to a bearing distributor like motion industries or applied industrial technologies but you'll need a bearing in good condition to take some measurement. I never buy my bearings at the dealer. You'll get higher quality bearing at a lower price.

what is the usual price that people have had to pay for the parts and labor just to replace the rod bearing and whole mag end on the dragon?

I really don't know. I never bring a snowmobile that is out off warranty at the dealer.

crank

you could buy a used crank with a bad pto side and put the two together
my bro N law might sale his

i didnt take it to a dealer i took it out myslef and sent it down to logan

how much would he sell it for? where is he located?
