Rock Creek last Thursday with Timbersled and Rasmussen - Pics

Timbersled's Allen Mangum spent a couple days in town last week for a skid install on Project MLC and for a Mountain Horse ride (pics coming...).

We met Bret Rasmussen and Tony Jenkins for a quick ride into the Centennials near Island Park Thursday. We rode the scenic route around through the bottom of Rock Creek, then took the shortcut out the top. The snow is still decent in IP despite the usual late January dry spell. There's a little crust buried under some fresh snow. But as usual, the snow deep in the trees hidden from sunlight is always great. There was a little carnage, but Tony always managed to save it so it wound up being not that exciting. Well, I'm sure he got a rush out of it.

Bret, with Tony bringing up the rear. Bret had a nice controlled decent and took most of the powder with him. Tony's drop was about 50 times faster. We were watching the tree tops waiting for something to shake. But he pulled it off.

very nice, all that snow makes me jealous, if we've even got 2-3' here we're lucky. I've been trying to get a hold of someone from Timbersled, to see if they'd let me work there for free for the summer as part of my college program. do you know if anyone from there is on snowest so i could shoot him a PM?

Awesome pics...and looks like a great day of riding! :)

That bringing up the rear on descents and not having any powder left to slow ya can definitely have one *talking* to themselves. :face-icon-small-sho

Excellet Pics! Its so hard to capture good tree riding on camera, and you did (always do) a great job of that!

Hes just so good at sidehill control that Rasmussen

Great pics

You must have been sore after that day.

Wicked pics fouthmeal..thank you for sharing...you ever think of doing this for a living;)

That pic of Mr. Rasmussen is really cool!!

Awesome pics. Went riding with bret and tony at cooke right after you guys rode with them. Great guys. The most fun I have had in a long time. I had a bad cold and ran out of energy really fast. It was really hard to hang with them because I was so tired. Might have to make it a yearly deal.
