RMK tunnel damage

We had one of the guys in our group take a hit late season causing a small buckle in the tunnel just behind the front axle (mag side) on the rear skid. It is a 2014 rmk. I purchased the Van Amburg reinforcement plate as my dealer indicated that it extended beyond the stock plate....it doesn't. Is anyone aware of a tunnel reinforcing kit that goes in place behind the front axle of the rear skid mount....see pics. I no the VE tunnel/bumper kit would get in done but I think that might be overkill for this scenario.

thanks in advance!

Repair it and tie it together!

Thats a pretty good kink. The tunnel has been weakened, even with a good repair... so best to go "over kill" a bit as I think you'll be happy in the end.

IMO... best to go with the heavy duty VE plates on the outside... the ones that require you to remove the factory plates...

In combination with the FTX tunnel kit that ties everything together...
I consider this FTX kit, IMO, mandatory in addition to the repair plates... especially on one that has been kinked and repaired with plates.. This is pretty darn important as the repair plates or reinforcement plates don't do this.

Vohk makes a nice kit as well that goes inside the tunnel to help sandwitch things together.

The other thing that can help tie things together are the tubular running boards from BM-Fab or Skinz.... they actually help to stiffen the tunnel more than you might believe.

I vote v.e. Extended bumper plus the plate you already bought. Pound it out and cover it up. Might look like overkill but I doubt it'll buckle again!!!

It sounds like Van Amburg has a mid-tunnel brace kit that might fit the bill.

We like to keep the insurance claims for the ones that are in a ball at the bottom of the hill.

I think this will be a pretty easy fix with the right brace kit!

Thanks for the feedback.

fire n ice has a nice set

If you're going that route... I'd just go with the long bumper with side plates, the front repair plates.. (they are bent even if you dont see it yet) and the FTX kit.

I don't see a "mid" kit on their website.. Link??

VE

It is not on his website. Mike indicated that WPS only wanted to stock the "polaris pro short rear bumper" but wanted the option to reinforce from the short rear bumper to the front axle gusset. The result was a mid-tunnel brace.

I have not seen any pictures but this was how Mike explained it.

If you have an AXYS-RMK...The one in this pic will fit.

BUT..

You asked about the PRO-Ride chassis. (2014)
