Hey guys took my 11 rmk assault out today and the exhaust caught fire ..ran fine for the first 10 miles them started bogging out ..2 mins later there where flames shootin out my exhaust and pannel...was watchin my temp gage when it started boggin ..temps stayed in the 120s and never had any lights come on on the gage cluster..shut it off ripped the pannel off and put it out ..let it cool down an now it wont start. Anyone ever have this happen to them before?

My buddy's older Renegade almost caught fire that way. His turned out to be one piston was toast so it wasn't burning all the fuel going to that cylinder, resulting in most of it igniting in and coming out of the muffler. Almost burned his sled up.

This happened to my '03 REV, it was a ripped intake boot, and was making that carb run super rich, which dumped raw fuel into my muffler. That coupled with over oiling made for a ignitable mixture.

Talked to the dealer today..they took it out for a 13 mile drive while monitering exhaust temps and fuel pressure..couldnt find anything wrong with it besides a fouled plug..told me to come pick it up...kind of worried ..leaving on saturday for a 9 day trip to the mountains ..last thing i need is for it to light up my first day(1000 miles from home) out because they overlooked somthing...what are ur guys thoughts?..think ill be good to go?

More air through that rip should make it run really lean.
