Rmk shorting into reverse from snow under the hood

had a perfectly good riding weekend ruined this weekend as i ran into problems with my sled shorting out after the pow pow got under my hood. Couldn't get the sled to dry out or run right the rest of the weekend. Kept dying and want to throw itself into reverse.

Is this a common issue, and what do people do to keep the water from shorting out wiring? I don't want this to happen again!

This is kind of common for those of us that roll our sleds over to get them unstuck. If you have the "all-in-one" switch housing that holds high-beam, reverse, grip heater, brake switch assembly. On all 07-08's and non-Dragon 09-10's.

I have been able to take them apart and dry them out and get them to work fine afterwards.

Have had the same happen to my sons 600 RMK, as DD mentioned above, snow getting into the handlebar switches after a roll over, seemed to be the cause on his sled.

interesting... i was thinking it was wiring under the hood or the reverse wires running down to the motor....

have you found any solution?

I was ready to RVT silicone every wire under the hood..... also put the sled up for sale cause im sick of dealing with it haha

He was able to kinda ride it out and down by holding the reverse switch in(major pain!).
We blew what snow out of the switch we could and parked it in the sun to dry it out, and 'problem' was fixed. He hasn't been rolling the sled to get it unstuck anymore, so hasn't happened since. So far...........
