RMK low elevation clutching and gearing info wanted

I am a past Polaris guy, owned 2011 and 2012 assault switchbacks ridden low elevation (1000') so I never had to mess with them, worked great

I ended up with a summit last season and spent half the year in the mountains half at home. A close friend is a doo guru and helped me re gear and clutch for low elevations. Just when I finally got all set up and started to learn my way around, I think I want to get on an RMK this season as a do everything sled.

Ideally I would purchase another track, cut it to 1.75, and gear and clutch for 1000' elevation. I plan to go to the mountains twice so I would switch back for those trips.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of info online regarding this vs ski doo... Can anybody tell me how difficult it is to set up a primary for low elevation? Would I have to do the secondary too? Any special tools required?

I basically want to find out financially want tools and parts I need besides the sled to have both elevations covered because it will affect my decision of whether or not I do sell the doo.

Thanks in advance

A secondary tool is about $80, and a primary puller about $40 + or -
Not difficult at all to set either the primary or secondary, especially with the proper tooling. An hour or so, depending on adult soda ingestion, start to finish, with the proper parts and pieces on hand to make the changes..
Secondary spring/helix run about $150, and primary springs are about $30, then depends if you want to run adjustable weights (anywhere from $220/set and up) or swap out Poo weights (about $20 per?? been a while..)

I put in a 120 - 310 team spring in (White). $25.00
Thunder Products Glide Washers on both ends of Spring. $20.00
Culter's Adjustable Weights 60g to 70g. $200.00
Team Delrin Washers in Secondary. $15.00
Stock Gearing.
Stock Secondary Helix and Spring.
Ride 1000 to 2000 here at home. Remove some weight for out west.

I ride a 2013 155 at 2000'

Running the blue/pink SLP primary spring
Stock weights, I think 62g, but it's been a while since I looked. I want to go the adjustable route this year but haven't gottev that far yet. I find at 2000' I'm just slightly heavy. Going to 60s is too light and I over rev

Running SLPs seconday kiy as well. Stock helix different spring

As far as getting. A different track and cutting it down I ag don't waste your money

I am over 3000 miles now on the 155 2.4" series 5.1. Only about 500 of those miles are mountain miles. I do a lot of trail riding withy dads crew to "shack nights" and so on and it has never skipped a beat. Just keep your scratchers down and don't be dumb on the throttle. It will last just fine

The tools are not expensive and are worth while to have. You can always resell if you have no need for them down the road

Thanks for all the replies. Anybody know what elevation they are spec'd for?

just checked and the place I ride (Nelson Bc) isn't that high elevation. I ride 2000-5500 feet. Also doing a trip to Revy which I'm assuming is higher

Good to know others are doing similar riding with the sleds. Only reason I'm concerned is that with my stock 2.5 track on my summt the sliders lasted 2 weeks of trail riding even with scratchers. I put on a ported 2.25 and barely used scratchers and the sliders lasted forever. I would have liked to have a slightly smaller track as it sounded a little rough but kept me at a safe speed... Cruising at 60 mph instead of 80
