RMK Axis sway bar, who runs with/without

Coming over to the dark side from cat this year and it has been 15 years since i had a sled with a sway bar, or with coil shocks for that matter. I will obviously try it both ways the first chance i get but wondering what the masses have found. I see lots of people are going with an even narrower front end. is this with or without sway bar and do you find enough adjustment in the coil spring to handle while cornering . thanks

I plan to leave mine stock. I left the last two Pros stock with sway bars and enjoyed every minute of it. Used to be that the Assault models did not come with a sway bay but it had stiffer springs and adjustable shocks.

Last time I removed a sway bar was on an Edge sled, they needed that mod. The new sleds roll over so easily I do not see the point of removing the bar or narrowing the front end. If it really didn't work for me I would be all for changing it but the new sleds are pretty awesome out of the box.

I don't think any "rides" without it yet on their Axys... maybe one or two rides for the most lucky out there.

Swaybar in/off seems to be as fiesty a discussion 'What truck is the best".... everyone has their opinion.

I've always removed mine. 05', 08', 11', now this 16'. I personally like it better removed for the down hill carving aspects and the quick sh!t hooks. Nice they have the quick disconnet now, so you can test it either way.

thanks for the replies, i just wasn't sure what to exspect, i must have about 10 miles on it in my garage haha and seems pretty tippy rocking back and forth but then i come on good old snow west and see pictures of guys with 36" front ends which is fine if thats what your into but then i see they still have a sway bar which is just bizarre thinking to a cat guy.

I disconnected the sway bar on my 14 pro and I can't wait to try it on my 16 axys, it made it so much more fun riding down hill and carving!

With the sway bar out it allows the shock you are putting weight on to collapse completely, which is why the above are mentioning the ease of carving while going downhill. It lays the sled over easier and farther.

But for boondocking it is worse because with the shock completely collapsed it has no "shock" or compression left for bumps and uneven terrain when on one ski.

IMO they handle much better with it in when on edge. It doesn't take a lot of effort to get the pros on edge so I don't see the need for that. I'd rather have better control on edge than a hardly noticeable difference to roll over.

when you do disconnect the sway bar it usually requires stiffening of the front end in order for the shocks to still support a ride height but its the ability to make the shocks work independently that is the key, sway bars are for cornering but they seem to be easily overcome on these machines

Another thing I didn't mention. When I rode my Axys, I noticed it takes more effort on the trail to keep it from rolling through the corners. I can't imagine how bad that is with the sway bar off. I know people will say that they don't ride the trails but often we do to get to the good stuff.

A sled is a sled but a Pro is not a Cat.

A sway bar on a mountain sled designed for it helps support the front end while the other ski is in the air with out the need for a stiffer spring and valving set up.
A narrower front end is basically making your existing spring stiffer.

I've tried them all and prefer the Duramax on the rocks. Now if I could just get rid of the back rock catching pumpkin,,, I might be closer to a Hummer with a box.

The only way you prefer the chevy on the rocks is if you have had a few too many on the rocks yourself... That Power Wagon will leave it for dead, all day every day, twice on Sundays.

I will admit though... I had the sway bar disconnected in that picture
