First of all, no offense to any of you that use heat tape for this application but I just wanted somthing a little more substantial and a lot more pretty! :lips:

So I fabricated a heat shield as seen in the pics below. I made a pattern and some instructions for making these. If anyone wants one of these just PM me your email and I'll email you the pattern and instructions. They won't be available until Monday though when I can get to my scanner and scan in the document.

One of the other members made one of these years ago. Are you going to make them or just send your pattern? seems pretty easy to me, I was going to do this last year but ran out of time so had to stick it together in a hurry.

I'm just sending the pattern out for free! It'l save you a little time not having to reinvent the wheel!

Z-man...trade you straight across for the float kit instructions! :face-icon-small-win

Just came across this thread and wanted to know how the shields are holding up so far. Great idea I'll send ya a pm with my email if you still have the template.

they work well and are cheap insurance. As well as benifits air intake temps somewhat

Just send me your email and I'll send a PDF of the template.

I sent you a pm but you must have not gotten it. Thats okay, someone else hooked me up with a template and the instructions. Thanks for doing the leg work and designing it. Much appreciated.:face-icon-small-hap

remove the stock steel plate between the throttlebodys, replaced it with a larger alluminium plate, no need for booth..

that would definitely shield it..lol.

I noticed a couple days ago that the heat tape on mine actually burned through.

Can someone email me the pattern?

Hey guys, just wanted to know what you were using to hold your heat shields on? Mine is just a little bit thicker, probably 1/8" diamond plate. I was out riding today and lost both of the screws and the shield was in there rattling around, I guess I need to get some longer screws.
