Yes.
There is a black 2 plug connector up around the top of the steering hoop just for this purpose.

Yes thats right. I thought all models were CFI in 08.
If yours is a carbed model you can get 12V kit from polaris that contains a capacitor like is used on the CFI models, thus eliminating the need for a battery.
The kit is pricey though. Around $100 bucks I think.
