rktek kit on boondockers turbo

I am installing the rktek drop in kit on my 2011 pro with a intercooled boondocker turbo on it. I am curious if anyone else has done this mod and how they are running and how much performance you get out of it? Another mod i am on the fence on is the boondocker cold air intake snorkel, does anyone think its worth it or not?

I have the RK Tek pistons and turbo head on my 11 pro, and it is working excellent. As far as the cold air intake through the hood, I do not run it, because of how exposed it is. I ride way too many trees for that prefilter sock to not get ripped or knocked off. Also, they do not do very good with over the hood powder days. I have a bunch of vents placed strategically, to draw as much air through the engine compartment and passed the intake and inter cooler as possible.

i fired up my sled for the first time with the kit installed and man what a differance in just the idling, i have a feeling its gonna go good. I ride very thick trees too and i am worried about the air filter ripping so i bought a couple extra filters to bring with me on the hill side.

With the turbo head what compression are you running as compared to stock? I am curious what the specifics are that make it a turbo head compaired to a typical high compression head.

Not true. Mine raises the compression over stock.:face-icon-small-win

This is kind of what I was getting at. There is some give and take when it comes to lowering compression to achieve higher boost levels. It would be interesting to compare the dome out of a turbo head to that of a N/A head.

so if you are running a high comp head with turbo what are you doing to prevent deto? i can see the gain of having awesome response but unless i am missing something your fuel octane and quality requirements will be way up. In laymans terms turning a pump gas kit into a race gas kit but still running low boost.

edit: did a little research, i just tested this kit on a buddys n/a pro the other day and all is understood now :). unfortunately now that i know it works with boost that means i gotta order a drop in kit now. ugh just when i thought i was done spending money.
