RKT drop in kit jetting help needed

05 800ho fouls plugs off idle & idle.
Mid & top end runs good.
If I lean pilot screws it will get lean bogg off idle. Started with 20 pilots 2 1/2 turns and leaned out, went to 17.5 and ended up at 3 turns out for best response. Lean stumble when trying to go in on screws but plugs show wet and black and will foul quickly. Running 360 mains, needle clip in middle slot, stock exhaust & stock can. Riding between 4000 & 6000 elevation.
Tried 1 notch rich and lean on needles with screw adjustments but no help.
Whats the trick to adjust pilot screws, can it be done while engine is running?

When I ran mine a couple years back, I left the Pilots stock, 1.5-2 turns out on the air screw and started jetting at 390. I think I ended up at 370, safe side. Ran great. The air screws will not be accurate if you have the white plastic knobs on the air screws, mine would slip and I would get an inaccurate adjustment. Be sure the knobs are not slipping.

I think 17.5 are stock and if I try to go in from 3 turns out it gets bad lean bogg. With 360 mains the plugs look good after WOT pull and mid range pulls show good on plugs. Just battling idle mixture-bogg problems.

Lean stumble and the plugs are still wet?

I'm running good in the mid and top but have a fat bottom (light girgling at 5000 rpms) I'm running stock pilots 17.5, needle at clip # 4, and currently 370. going to play with 360's. But the fuel screw is at 3/4 and 1 turn out.

Lean stumble and still wet AND FOULING PLUGS!
Mid range and WOT plugs look good, but last week end following family back to truck running low end only plugs are unmistakably rich fouled. Tried turning the fuel screws
(with white caps) in but stumble gets worse and it will respond good if I feather the choke. This is my confusion, lean stumble but plugs foul rich.

I'm having a similar problem, trying to hold 5500 and she runs like chet and can't stay steady, almost surges. Give it a little more throttle up to 6K and she runs more chrisper??
Does this sound like a fuel screw issue or pilot issue????
I'm running stock 17.5's in PTO side and 20's in Mag side, both 1 turn out on the fuel screws. Egt's are normally pretty close but when I try to hold it at 5500 my Mag side gets almost 100 degrees hotter???

The pilots are staggered because of the twin pipes I'm running on my 840

05 800HO with RKT drop in kit
17.5 pilot,needle clip middle,air screw 2 out,370 mains
This is what i run at 3000-6000 feet.

There is no way to foul plugs with just a pilot circuit.. Virtually impossible.. The ONLY way to have a plug foulng issues at idle or just off idle is to have a stuck choke (or partially open choke) or bad reeds. I would check and make sure you have "play" in your choke lever and check and see if your choke plunger is ABOVE the chocke actuating fork located on the carb itself.... It that is OK, pull the plunger nad verify it is not stuck open (careful there is a spring in there).. If all goes well there.. check for bad reed petals,.

AGAIN.. NO way a pilot circuit can foul plugs on its own.. It needs help to be able to deliver that much fuel...

Agree with Kelsey. I had a similar problem, turned out the choke cable was bad...wouldn't fully release the choke. 02 800 , Drop in kit, 17.5 pilots, 370 mains, clips in 4th notch, never changed air or fuel screws!!! Runs great, no hesataion, no bog, no hicups. Smooth power all the way. Dino
