RK Tek Pistons vs. Drop In Kit

Need to put new pistons in my 2011 Pro and I am wondering if anyone has done the drop in kit from RK Tek. Is it worth the extra money or should I just stick with replacing the pistons? Thanks.

Do you mean, should you put in RKTEC direct replacement pistons or the drop in kit with head. Either pistons will give you better reliablity, neither one better than the other. Both better than stock.

The drop in kit gives you an increase in HP with a port timing change (shorter piston) and a head to match the shorter pistons. No HP increase with direct replacement pistons.

heard good things about rkt stuff

I put in the MTNTK fix kit and had great luck with it. I dont think you can go wrong either way. But I would do one. and replace the PTO bearing on the crank while you are at it.

This is the first I have heard about the pto bearing Phatty . Did you have problems . I also run the MTNTK kit and so far I am pleased . To complement the kit and PAR head I am also going with a slp pipe and fuel controler .
I have to agree with most people that anythink is better tham oem .

I lost a PTO bearing on my 12' assault last year. Had 2000 miles on it... Still was able to ride out of the mountains, but lost the PTO piston due to a lean condition from the crank seal being blown... Polaris warrantied me a whole short block (updated 13' motor too!).
Sorry for the de-rail. If it were me though, I would get the drop in kit and get more hp and reliability...
