Just curious to see who has the RK Tek Clutch kit? Thinking about one for my 06 M7 153 for powder

If you have one how do you like it?

Do you feel it was worth the $265.00 coins?

What helix, springs etc are you running?

What sled are you running?

There have been lots of posts on this subject!! Try doing a search! You should find what you need.

^^^^^AGREED!! YES worth it. Night and day difference. You will NOT be disappointed- really wakes the sled up.

RK Tek clutch

Yes, good choice !!! You want great fun with your stock 06 M7, (7000-10000 ft) Install 65 gram wieghts, 36 degree RK helix, with Artic cat Lime green in secondary clutch, with spring setting center hole.

I also have an M7, and found that you can save some money and have a very similar kit.

Both bmp(bikeman), and hi-perf. engineering offer a similar clutch kit. However, they save you money, because you can use your stock helix.

Both kits cost about $150, and we have used our stock 36* helix. Each kit comes with a couple pieces for the bottom and cover of your spring.

You may want to add some new rollers while you have it apart. You can also easily find a arctic red/white, or green sno pro spring to use, depending on your elevation.

All said and done, I think we had $200 in it with spring and rollers. We have been really happy with the difference it has made. Much snappier on the bottom end, and backshift has really improved.

I think Kelsey's-RKT kit is really nice if you can afford it. I run one of Kelsey's RKT heads and he has helped me out a ton with advice on set up.

Simply based on budget, we chose to go with the cheaper kits. That way we had money for other mods.

Hope this helps.

That is exactly what I am thinking.. It seems to me that going a cheaper route would get close to the same results. There are some other mod's I want to install and the more I can save on each one the more mod's I can get..

If you are going to buy a kit that does not work as good save all your money and dont buy any the rkt kit works the best have tried alot of them and differant shift assist set ups

200 bucks for a setup that kind of works or 300 bucks for a kit that really works. you get what you pay for.

Sorry I disagree. You can go to a torsional setup WAY cheaper than buying his or spending $200, but to each his own.

I have RKT in mine and love it, it made a big difference. Is anyone using his duel spring setup? What is the difference and what is the duel spring going to do for you that the single spring doesen't? Sorry to hijack your thread but I thought it went with your orignal question.

Your not hijacking the thread. I would be interested in some replies as well.

I did my own setup. Cost nothing as I had all the needed parts in my carage. Torsional setup is the way to go. Works really good! I used stock 44/40 helix and AC red/white in second or third hole depending snow depth.

Here' some pics how I did it:

My implementation is little different than OVS or other setups. I can change spring tension just by taking the cover out. OVS kit and other older kits needs helix remove before spring tension (hole) can be adjusted.

Dual spring setup...

I have two RKT torsional kits - one in my M1K w/straight 36 helix, the other in my wife's 08 M8 with a 38/34 progressive. The straight 36 feels snappier in both machines, and the dual spring setup is a definite improvement (better belt grip and quicker upshift / backshift compared to the Cat red / white or cat green that I've used in the past. I think the small compression spring gives you the upshift of the red/white spring, and the backshift of the cat green. In any case, I've noticed no significant belt heat or wear, and my track speed increased about 5mph when climbing over the previous setups - simply by changing the spring set in the secondary. RPM is more consistant on the M8 on a long pull, where before it would taper off (drop) on a long hill.

I know the RKT setup has a larger range of spring adjustment than some of the other budjet kits I've seen and they come with hard rollers. You just loosen the three screws and rotate the cover for adjustments. My setup is yellow white primary spring, 62.5 gram weights (I think, they could be 65s, I can't remember), RKT 36/34 helix, and cat green snow pro spring. I am 250lb w/o gear and am spinning a 162X2.5 camoplast extreme with a head and full single exhaust on my 05 M7. Very happy with the RKT kit. Oh and I ride mostly at 9-11,000ft

Hey guys I'm just doing some research into the Rk Tek secondary set up. I have an 09 162 sno pro, stock right now. I am wondering if you guys are running the stock primary set up with this change to the secondary? And it is sounding like the dual springs are the way to go? I've never ran an adjustable secondary before so what can I expect from this set up? I see that there are 7 holes of adjustability, what are the differences from top to bottom? Sorry for my ignorance but I'm new to cat, the diamond drive, and adjustable secondaries also.

Thanks for any advice.
