Riser options for Nytro XTX

I have a new 2010 XTX coming. I don't like the stock handle bars and riser option (the shiney black plastic bothers me). I asked my dealer to put on the 2010 MTX set up (bars and riser). What I was wondering is, would there be a better or cheaper option? I really like the PRO TAPER bars that are on the new POO's. Is there any options like that? This will be my firts Yamaha (coming from Polaris) so I am not exactly sure whats out there for me. Please shed some light on this matter for me. I serched and did not turn up a whole lot of info.

Thanks in advance.

Riser options

Not sure what your looking for here but I did the WildChild relocate kit on mine because I wanted to change the position of the bars and extend them. The kit did just that without adding a riser. Love the new position and by changing the position you effectively add at least three inches of height to the bars.

Here's what I did to my '09 MTX; CR Racing "T" Style steering post, Fly Risers, Renthal FAT Bars and the best addition - an OFT Relocation Kit. This got the bars up and forward - where they need to be if you're a stand up rider:D
The "T" style post leaves you endless options for riser bar combinations. You can also use a plate to pipe adapter to achieve a similar set up for less $$.

The Picture of the post is too big...so you'll have to check it out at CR's site:D

If $$$$$ is no object go with a CR post, risers and bars.

If you're on a budget go with Powermadd pivot adjuster......cost is about $100.00 and you use the stock bars.

You will have to check that the cables are the same as the MTX. I was having a quick look at the XTX and the cables look shorter but I have not played around long enough to find out

Thanks for the replies. Yes the XTX cables are shorter and I would be looking at extending them or replacing with the MTX cables. I have a feeling that puting on the MTX riser and handle bars with cable extentions can get quite pricey. I am looking to keep this as cost efficient as possible. I like the "T" stlye option I think that will open up alot more doors for me in regards to riser and bar combinations. Could anyone give me an aprox dollar amount of the 2010 MTX riser, handel bar, Cables and anything else I may need to make this project work. VS say a "T" adaptor/w riser and bars (cable ext)ect.

We can set you up with everything you will need. We have longer brake lines and throttle cable extensions. We also give Snowest forum members a 10% discount.
Thank you,

Hey Guys,

Sorry to keep bothering you with my little questions. I am working in the Middle East Safah dessert. The only thing that gets me through this hell is dreaming about sledding (especially my new 2010 XTX). I was wondering if anyone on here could tell me the stock height on the XTX handlebars from the the post to the grip (overall height). Also I need to know if I can get away with an aditional 2" or 3" over stock before I have to add extentions. I am trying to decide on a handlebar and riser combo (without extentions) so this info would really help. Thanks in advance.

PS: I love this site:beer;
