Riot 3 Pro - Track contact with tunnel (anyone else)

With proper tension (1" at rear shock mount with 10lbs) after my first break in ride - tons of vibrations (perhaps just the extrovert drivers) but I had to check everything over. Other than no locktite on the drive bolts, none of them torqued to spec, and half of the chassis bolts not torqued either, I did find rubber marks on the frame where the tunnel connects. This is a lot of the vibration and a clicking when I manually turn the track.. I think it's due to this contact. Anyone else have this issue? Nothing I can see in the fitment would change this other than the holes being placed wrong in manufacturing or improper design for the 3" track.

anyone seeing this? Is this is across the board on 3" track models? I've got two that came in different shipments so far in January that both have track contact.

It's pretty common for the tracks to do this when they're new. I've been told it's because they get strapped down tight around the rear wheels and drivers, they tend to want to hold that shape for a while which will definitely cause some rubbing and vibrating at first. It seemed almost impossible to turn my track by hand right out of the crate (I could pull it back, but then it would roll back forward on it's own) and it would not roll across the floor at first. 3 rides later it spins easy and rolls easy across the floor.

How many hours on these kits?

Only issue I've seen so far is a bump stop falling off. Always a good idea to put a little extra loc-tite on those.

Edit: Just went and looked at my kit, I can see some marks on the bottom of the frame, but have about 3/8" clearance between the track and frame.

that is one 30 mile ride on the photo shown. the other is just a spin around the yard... and although I could see the point of the track having a memory... the track is in contact with the frame and the metal hoops on the upper shock mounting cross shaft. So i can't see anything but the track wearing down a few mm over time stopping this contact from occurring.

Mine has some clearance as well but seems like it does rub occasionally. I’ve got about 20 hours on it.

I spoke to Dale at Timbersled (Allen's brother) He said the most likely cause was the track lugs riding up on the drivers due to it being dry in the shop, not broken it, and being pushed by hand verse pulled by the drivers. Sure enough, I rolled the track backwards a few feet at his request and the clearance relaxed a bit. Seems like contact will be normal under deceleration, but after break in and normal wet conditions for a few more hours of running it should become less of a problem. We couldn't brainstorm any potential manufacturing flaws or assembly condition that could cause the problem otherwise - so it just appears to need the beatings to continue until morale improves.
