Question to those who have gone down this path before me.

How are you mouting the Rino to your Sleds??

Just get a mount from snobunje. You can mount it to the bars or the dash somewhere. Works great!

I use the motorcycle mount and mounted it flat so it does not stab you if you hit the bars but yet can use it while riding.

1088 GARMIN GPS CRADLE MOUNTS

This cradle mount will securely hold a dash-mounted Rino GPS. You will no longer need to dig in a pocket or pack to use your Rino, just glance down at your dash. It makes checking for contacts and tracking much easier. Securely cradles GPS on dash.

Mounting hardware is included Item #1088-100 (Rino models 110,120,130)
Item #1088-500 (Rino models 520, 530) The belt hook that comes with the GPS is used with the cradle.

If the RAM-mount for the Rinos is the same as the 60-series, you might want to ziptie or otherwise secure the unit to the mount. The 60's rely on the belt clip to retain the device in the mount, and it's not uncommon for them to pop out.

On my bike I loop the wrist strap around the bars then stick the GPS in the mount.

mount

i have used ram mount on all my gps's for the last 7yr. never a problem even rolling them in the mountians. i try and keep it up close to the dash out of the wind.
great gps
good luck

That's the one I use and then I loop the wrist strap around the mounting screw in case it comes loose from the cradle

I got a handle bar mount ,opened it up cut flush and drilled a second hole in it. I then drilled the two holes to mount on my dash with a piece of tin drilled for backer plate and mounted to dash. Was one there two years and after a nasty roll down a chute I lost it never to be found again. Will be putting a teather on my next one though.

Cheers,
Dave

?

I use the speed clip and tether to secure it to my left shoulder strap. That way if I leave the sled its coming with me. I know it's great to be able to glance at it and see where you are at any given moment, but what happens if you should become separated from your sled? Say Avalanch, or you lose your sled down a chute or ravine. The equipment that could help you or even aid in saving yours, or someone elses, life is now no help at all.
