Riding tuesday Feb 18 Coq lakes/10k

Not sure if this is the correct place for this thread but...

I've got the day off tomorrow and was thinking about a day on the mtn. I know its not a good idea to ride alone so just throwing out a invite to anyone who wants to go play. I'm new to the sport so someone with the same skill level or a mountain of patience would be ideal. I'm 31. I have a shovel, probe and beacon. I have a truck and 7x14 enclosed trailer. I'm on a 2012 rmk assault. let me know

Kirk, it's extremely deep out there, you DO NOT Want to venture out there alone. It's deep enough to get stuck on the trail up.

I'm sure someone can call in sick tomorrow to allow you to ride, but it won't be me.. Sorry!

Riding the Coq.

It sounds like you want to get out and get some experience riding. First lesson is to first check the Canadian avalanche centre before you go out sledding. The conditions are high to considerable. Stay home and wait till things settle down. We ride that area all the time. After you loosing a buddy cause of an avalanche in 10 km a few years ago, we learned the hard way, it's not worth heading to the hills when the conditions are like this. The only way you can avoid the hazards when it is like this is to not be there. We are experience, have take avy coarse, have avy packs, probes and beacons, gps. Still doesn't make you safe. Ride smarter to live to ride another day. Just my thoughts for the day. That avalanche accident change my life.
