Riding information around Reno-Carson City area?

Just looking for some information abut the riding season around Reno & Carson City area. What is the length of the riding season from first rock dodging ride to the last snowdrift left. What altitude is the normal riding. How far of a drive for some good riding.
Looking at places to move to and sledding has a top priorty on the decision.

Totally depends on the year and how much snowfall we get - this year we were riding at Thanksgiving, then had a month of "summer" in December, then we got a HUGE amount of snow and we'll probably be riding until June. This year has been well above average (after everything settled and a week of very warm weather, we still have over 20 feet at about 6500'-7500'). We don't get a whole lot of powder, but it's usually very good for climbing and trail riding... Lots of riding areas within an hour of Reno (Truckee, Graeagle, ect). Very mountainous, mixture of extremely tough mountain terrain and lakes.
