Hey all,

I might be moving to Las Vegas here in the next month. I love to ride have been my whole life. I currently reside in Western Wyoming, kinda spoiled :).. Anyways IF I move there, I was wondering how far I have to drive to get to good snow. I love to boondock, DEEP POW, climbing, all off trail stuff. I would make trip to Cali, Utah, Elko, ETC. Just wondering how far from Vegas for good snow.

Thanks,
Eric

Pretty much a 6 to 8 hour drive will get you there. Also I do wonder about Northern Arizona would check with that group.

Eric:

Like K-dog said, the Brianhead area is good. It's a big ski resort. Hwy 14, East out of Cedar City, UT goes over Midway Summit(9900 ft.) and there is snow up there. Was on a bike ride early last May and got caught in a snowstorm going over that summit. Wish I had been on the sled. Duck Creek Village is another sledding area that is popular. It's on the eastside of the summit. Don't know what their snow load is during the season.

One thing for sure, it ain't gonna be anything like Wyoming. Wyoming to Vegas, that's a hell of a swing. Hope you like the heat. Good luck on the move.

Vegas to Mammoth...

I live in Mammoth, and depending on your right foot, 5-6 hours to Mammoth from Vegas. Great riding here, and not much further to Virgina Lakes, Sonora, or Tahoe. Best of luck with the heat :-)

There is sledding a few hours east of Reno near Saint George and more near Cedar City UT.

Could get a jeep or moto cause there is much more areas for off roading in the desert.

Thanks guys, I hope I can find some good riding area. Finishing up college there. HVACR... gonna be a bummer if I can't find anything like Wyoming. I seen some pics of the Elko thread here and saw some DEEP Pow. Headlight deep. We get that here in Western Wyoming, but this year not to much, early then it stopped in January. Thanks again.
