WEll goin to TWIN FALLS with a riding budy picking up a sled & ride.

There is no snow in California and so we need to ride in IDAHO

Where should we ride after picking up the sled just north of Twin Falls on the 93?

The sled is an APEX

The person who has the sled in Twin Falls says to go to Stanley.

Any suggestions?

Nothing fancy just need fuel, a place to sleep and can put food in the muff pot.

Is there a snowmobile club we could talk with?

Going up some time the middle or end of February 2 days of driving and 2 days of sledding !

Thank you in advance !

Fairfield has some good riding. It's a lot closer than Stanley but unless we get some snow you better bring some wheels for it. The snow here is rideable but it sucks right now.

Finding Info. on Riding in Idaho!!

Go to the Idaho State Snowmobile Association (ISSA) website - idahosnow.org. Click on regional clubs. Find "Region 6 Clubs" and contact the Salon River Snowmobile Club in Stanley, Idaho. Gary is the president(friend of mine) and he will gladly help you out with any info. you may need. From Jens - Region 4 Director ISSA.

I'd stay in Hailey ( were I live ) and then ride stanley ... only place there is decent snow this year.

Hailey is about 60 miles north of twin and it takes 40 mins to get over the hill from here to go riding. You could look in ketchum and knock 15 mins off the drive over. You could stay in stanley but there is not much in that town for when your done riding ... hailey, ketchum has plenty to choose from.

Hey guys,

we made the journey up yesterday. staring at baldy right now. definitely more snow here than in Lake Tahoe.

Looking to go ride tomorrow. Thinking about Galena summit.... any suggestions??
anybody want to go and show us around? we would appreciate it.

thanks

I'm hoping when I get done with a good day of riding I eat sleep and go out again !

Of course I need fuel and grease up the sled. :whoo:

I called around Stanley and they said only a foot on the ground but can ride to the hills. Also rooms for 2 people with kitchens are $85 a night.

What is there to do In Hailey?

Just more choices of dining, bars, lodging but for 85 I think I'd stay in Stanley ... just stop on this side of the hill and get your beer groceries. There is a Polaris dealer in Hailey if you need parts.

The local phone book shows a toll free number of 877-774-3547. They are open until around 7pm, maybe a little later on weekends.

Called them and they seem to have some great rates and rooms. Would like to get more north though.

Leaving Los Angeles right now.

Expect to be in twin falls by 3 AM fridy morning.

Think there is some snow up near Ketchum so heading there FRIDAY !

Any body riding Friday or goin to the POKER run Saturday?

Getting to be some snow now, more coming today. Avy danger is at considerable, stay off slopes steeper than 30°. Hopefully someone will be available to ride with you guys this weekend. The next day I can go is Monday. Went yesterday north of ketchum and the snow was good above 7k. Lots of slides though.
