Riding Around Heber, Midway / SLC

Hey everyone,

I'm from colorado but take a trip out to midway/heber area every early January. This year we're going to bring the sleds out but I was just seeing if anyone had some recommendations for riding areas, preferrably mountain, might try to do some sled skiing if the resorts are crowded. I've been riding out by strawberry lake and back up wasatch (behind pcmr and deer valley). I felt both those areas were more for trails or should I get a map and look a little closer? We'd be willing to drive a little too. Also what about avalanche conditions, is the snowpack is pretty consistent that time of year with low temps?

Thanks!

Daniel's Summit is in between Heber and Strawberry, it has a pretty good trail system with lots of areas to go off trail and stuff.

Timberlakes is like 10 mins out of Heber as well, which hooks up to the Tower Mountain area. tons of great riding around there as well.

You can ride about 30 min and get to mill hollow or soapstone. Shoot me a pm when you are getting ready to come out and maybee I can show you around

hey grimp im in heber i am on a 96 rmk xlt with a 133 will it make it to tower

It will make it to tower with no problem but I wouldn't sugest leaving the road when th snow starts piling up, you will get buried.

Take off out of Lake creek or go up to co op creek or strawberry river, you can look at the map on the stateparks.utah.gov site.
