Thanks for the ride bro, I had a great day! Spring riding is a blast. Great day in the sun ... exploring / learning the area. Found a few areas that will definitely be accessed next yr.
Sad story... I sucked a rock through the tunnel and it punched a hole in my front cooler.
Lesson learned... no 4x4'n on a sled! Should be up and running within a wk.
Not sure who those guys are crossing the creek....

We rode up Salmon la Sac instead of GC, but I'm sure the coverage is there for another couple weeks. At 5k I'd guesstimate the pack to be 7-8 feet deep.
How far did you have to drive up the road?
Err... like 4 miles total... around 1 mile past the turn off heading toward lake. Not bad. The creek crossing was not mandatory, just looking around.
Not going down without a fight! If it weren't for the junked cooler I'd say there was 2-4 more rides worth of snow up there over the next 2-3 wks. Maybe more?

pics GC from this past sunday (5-22-11)...parked on the kachess side, drove up the forest road a ways past the camp ground. we did the dirty work busting through this snow drift...then 200 yds past is a good spot to park. still A TON of snow to play in. best part is the trail headding to the play area is flattening out from the snow melt so no more sore backs and tylenol.

Midwest cat... haven't seen much from you since exit 54 productions. Thought maybe your cat died and went to someplace that would accept em LOL. Any near future plans for GC or Baker?
oh, haha...yeah, ive been around. ive got a few more videos uploaded to my channel - up to 5 episodes...i think. but i think due to the sound tracks you wont find 2 of them (or they wont show up in the searches).
anyway...trying to see about baker this weekend and camp out...but it looks like snow/rain/cloudy/all the above plus some. so who knows. but if this weather ever clears on a weekend (seems to only come out M-F when i'm working) i'll be up there in a heart beat.
last year memorial weekend at baker it was drizzly and damp. i was hoping this year it would be nicer.
anyway...trying to see about baker this weekend and camp out...but it looks like snow/rain/cloudy/all the above plus some. so who knows. but if this weather ever clears on a weekend (seems to only come out M-F when i'm working) i'll be up there in a heart beat.
