Just curious what it costs a guy for a long weekend to revy. Obviously lodging, food and drink tab can be hugely different for everyone---but--whats the average cost for a couple guys to go say for 3 days of sledding?
This might be the year for me to travel a little!:face-icon-small-hap

Best Western is $149 per night, there are cheaper options but that is where we stay. Trail pass is $15 per day, meals are normally $15 per person for dinner before drinks, add in your sled fuel and the fuel to get to Revvy and you will be set.

I usually do 12-15 trips up north every season so we try and minimize costs, usually two or three day weekends, but its not cheap. Leave at 4am saturday saves a night in the hotel and you still get to ride all day. The more buds to split the truck fuel and room with will save a lot. Also bring your own lunch/snack stuff and hit the free breakfast at the hotel. Bring as much ethanol free fuel as you can for the sleds its spendy up there. Fill the truck at the border. Your allowed a case of beer per person so make sure to bring all you can its stupid spendy up there (and if they say anything just tell them an american "case" is 48;)). With three for three days of riding seems we were getting by on less than $500 a head.
Truck fuel =$100
Sled Gas = $80- 100
Trail Pass = $45 -60 (some places its $20/day like Sicamous)
Split Hotel for 2 nights = $100
Beer=$40
Lunch Food = $20
Bar Food = $40

Then dont forget to factor in what sled you ride:
2012 Arctic cat = $240 in belts
Polaris = $800 Helicopter recovery for blown motor in the way back
Doo = $500 insurance deductible for love tapping a Canadian pine cone

Then at the end of the season when the visa is maxed out there are some club cabins you can stay at. Or if its your only trip of the year go big, buy everything up there, rage at the bar everynight and spend $800 in a long weekend both are fun depends what your after. And make dam sure you know who your going with nothing worse then getting turned around at the border because your buddy forgot to mention that he has a DUI on his record!

Damn, I would have only spent 5 bones ??

WR's estimate is a little lower than what we usually spend but $400 red bull vodka bar tabs at Zala's for 2 adds up a little quicker.

IMO, you can't put a price on a trip to Revy/Sicamous. Chopper rides for the Polaris' are cheaper at Revy than they are anywhere else.

After our first trip up to Heaven in 2002, we installed a 80 gallon fuel tank in the back of the truck. No more gas cans. Paid for itself after 2 trips in fuel savings and the fact that we have quality fuel.

Something to note: Truck and sled theft is a normal, common thing up there. Ford trucks can be stolen in less than 45 seconds. Don't drive a Ford up there unless it's alarmed to the max.

Most of the better hotels have a way to plug into power for block heaters so bring some very long extension cables. It doesn't normally get real cold up there but I have been up there when it was -18 F and saw my outside temp read -50 F coming home thru the Coaqulla pass.

That's about what I figured give or take a little. Not a whole lot different than going to McCall. Not much of a drinker so that may help a bit.
I do understand its not about cost-its about the awesome time and awesome snow. I get that but the cold hard fact is it still comes out of the bank account.
don't drive a FORD either.
So, next question (although i may be a little early), anyone have a trip planned and have room for another. Have truck and deck, can drive, no DWI, not a beginner but in no way an expert. Don't climb much but like the trees.
I know I'm early but hope to make a trip this year. Keep me in mind if you.

Well if its a slow start to the season here and revy gets it going on early again like last year I will be headed up there asap. But dont expect much advanced warning from me if I hear its deep might PM you at 8pm expecting to leave at 4am the next morning. Then when you show up in bellingham i will have not slept and have no plans other than to drive until I see good snow (or break down if we take my truck) and ride until dark. Hot tub parties with canadian hussies until 2am are common and if the snows good don't be surprised if your three day weekend tuns into five. Just ask Retodd its good times!

Is Revy/Sicamous and area that you can go to without any local knowledge? Can you go and easily find good, if not great, places to ride or does it take a guide of some experience? BTW, you can find out a lot about a guy doing a border crossing. Canada is kinda picky about who they let in.:face-icon-small-coo
