Reverse on a sled

Just felt like sharing this. The new to me RX1's have reverse. In my 46 years I have never had a sled with it. I vow to never have one without it again. It was too nice getting turned around. When those moose hog the road.:D

they are really nice, at only 18 i still see the benefits as far as making loading unloading, and turning around WAY easier, just rember, not off the trail, or its a trench machine.

i've probably used the reverse 4 or 5 times. it's very convenient at the end of the day and you're tired of riding and digging. beats the hell out of jockeying the sled around.

Yep, I'll never be without it agian. Getting it out of the garage, or tight parking around a cabin ect... It sure is nice to have. Just wait til you forget you left it idle in reverse though and grab a hand full of throttle to take off while standing. I have "HEARD" that this can be quite embarrasing as you fly over the windshield while the sled shoots out behind you!

Learn how to use it on the hill. It will allow you to go into areas you couldn't before because you can control your decent or stop for that matter. It's pretty cool to be coming down a steep hill, crack the throttle in reverse and have a 50' rooster coming out the front of you.

i always say if i only use it to unload it off the trailer its worth every ounce!!!

I bought my sled from the second owner, 2000 RMK 700 and the original owner installed reverse. All my riding buddies gave me a hard time for having reverse. Of course, I was the one laughing last year as we rode along a steep side hill that ended up being a dead end. I spent about 1-hour helping all of them get their sleds turned around:o) I too will never purchase a sled without reverse.

ya reverse awesome.

watch out for falling on the handle bars while backing up(bump), the throttle gets pinned and you cant let off because your sled is trying to fly backwards from underneath of you. I know I'm not the only one who's done it.

always keep a finger on the brake when backing up.

But the only one that will admit it! Me. no

I'll admit it. Use is sparingly, hold brake. Reverse is dangerous.

DOH! :face-icon-small-ton
Even after that "incident" I still love reverse. Just learned a very expensive lesson.

Dang tom... that looks... painful..

I will never have a sled without reverse. It is so handy, from unloading, to turning around on a tight little trail.... With 2 strokes now all having engine rotating technologies, I think most sleds now have it standard... except for Yamaha's.... which is what I have..
