reverse not fully engaging?

just for kicks, while waiting on parts, i lubed up the reverse lever on my mtx and noticed it was a bit tough to get fully engaged. after dropping some lube on the shaft, and following it down, i noticed it was hitting on my "foothole" and keeping it from going all the way down. by the looks of it, i musta hit something pretty damn hard. oops. i do remember having an issue with this last year, just never got to it. tried to load pics...

dont think i got the pics in... anyway, to fix, i just put a bar in behind the sub frame (not against the chain-case), and pried the "foothole" back away from the ball joint. try more pics...

This was a common problem on my 08 and I did the same thing you have. My 10 came with a cutout in the foot hole for the reverse lever ball joint.

cool. i bought a grinder today, i was thinkin the same. im thinkin it got like that after pounding so many tons of ice outta the foot hole there. probly beat it into the ball joint like that accidently. lucky i didnt break anything yet. i think im gunna cut me some bigger holes in the running boards as well while im there. ill get pics as i go, it otta be cool. thanks.
