Planning a trip to Revelstoke the end of January. I would appreciate any recommendations. Departing from Billings…Best route to take, Best place to ride, Places to stay…etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

Stay at the Days inn or Hillcrest if you want to go upscale a tad.
Most popular is Boulder and with the right guide or ride along you will have a great day. Main area but there are 10+ areas within 30 minutes from downtown.

From Billings.....mapquest would be your best bet.

As stated before mapquest for best route. My quess would be up I-15. I would recommend traveling during daylight hours as there is a lot of cool country to see just getting to and from your sledding destination.
We stayed at the Glacier House (cabins and or motel) in their cabins and they were nice and fair priced. Food there and in town was all good.
As for the best places to ride I'm not sure but we rode Boulder and Frisby and had a great time.

Ride safe and have a good trip.

Thanks for the info guys. Looks like we are getting a cabin at Glacier. Going to ride for three days. Hoping to find somebody on here willing to show us around for a day or so. If you have been there, did you hire a guide or did you find a fellow Snowester to point you in the right direction? Guessing finding someone to point you in the right direction is the key up there!!!

You could get the most out of your trip if you were to find someone that knows the area to show you around but we had a great time just on our own.

We picked up trail maps at the trail head to get a general idea but with the use of a gps we covered quite a bit of ground without the worry of being lost off trail. It seemed pretty easy to find ourselves all alone in fresh deep powder even when the parking lots were full.

Unlike in the states they do charge a daily fee to use the trail system to get to the good riding. I don't remember how much it was but there the local sled clubs are responsable to maintain the trail system and the fee goes to them for trail maintenance, warming hut shelters, etc...
