It all depends on what you want to do and how much time you have! You can run through Golden to Lake Louise, Jasper, Grande Prairie, Dawson Creek and then north on the Alaska Highway. The scenery is spectacular through the Rockies and could be the quickest route. Fuel is also cheaper in Alberta. You can also go through Kamloops, then 2 different directions north. Along the Yellowhead highway to Valemount, then up through McBride to Prince George, Chetwynd, Hudson's Hope then onto the Alaska Hwy. Lots of miles with not much in between Kamloops and PG. You can also go through Kamloops up Hwy 97 through Williams Lake to PG. All routes take you through to the Alaska Highway in order to get to your destination. There are multiple route variations along every path you might take. Fuel is pretty pricey north of Ft. St. John and make sure you fuel up every chance you get up there. Lots of travelling with minimal services in the North.
