Revelstoke snowmobile club members.

How many people on here are Revelstoke snowmobile club members ?

How many people who are members buy their membership just for the trail pass alone ?

who are the members who want to have a voice when it comes to club decisions and dealings ?

would any of the members ( out of towners included ) be interested in some type of volunteer activity or family event ?

Would you still buy a membership if the fee doubled or even tripled ?

thanks for your feedback in advance.

Brandy and I are members primarily for the trail pass value...but also to support the club in a place we ride several times a year and absolutely love.

Being 8+ hrs away, I dont feel we have much right to participate in decisions, but it's nice to get the updates.

As far as the fee increasing, we would have to weigh the value. But like I said, it is also about supporting the club, so that would be part of the decision. Probably a tough sell overall right now to double or tripple the fee. If there were a specific reason (funds to fight land closure, for example) that would also be part of the consideration.

I'am a club member have been for a few years...I buy the club membership
and I live 14 hours away for Revy.I do buy it for the trail pass , as well
when we r up there we clean the cabin, bring wood up and shovel the snow
from the front door.
I would like to have decisions with club dealing but it is hard when meetings
are never on weekend for all people that due live out of town.
I think if the club is going spend money....alot of money...ie. building a warm
up shelter on boulder and try to pass it with out 18-20 club members at the meeting is WRONG!
Why should the club go broke building the new warm up shelter and sumone else walk in and pay for the remaining $$$ to finish it and have warm up shelters on both mnts.????
Why is Glacier House so protected by this club??? and wanting to help him out. when he causes the problems....ie. riding Frisby Ridge in closed Caribou area's. Why???????

Good points !! we need more voices at the meetings, or at least some type of communication with the members and a right to VOTE ! After all, it's YOUR club too.

More info, please. What is the warm up hut issue? What do you mean "protected" and "problems"?

Doesn't the Great Canadian Snowmobile Tour Company at Glacier House have some back country tenure or leases that allow them access not available to the general public?

Not sure exactly what protected means, but yes, as far as I know they have a tenure to have a back country warm up hut for their customers to use, but it's not open for the public use.

Thanks Veedy. It sounds like jayman has some info/issues with Glacier House. Just looking for some more info.

our group is usually all members, but have only been once this year and they were not selling on mountain like in past years so we have not got passes yet.. was told that its not normal to buy passes on hill, that we probably only got to buy passes before cause we ride with a local??

im a member this year . i do it mostly for the trail pass as i ride bolder 2 -3 times a week . not too sure what else it gets you ? the guy just took my money handed me a pass and said thanks. i dont even really know what events happen other than BIS and yamafest

with todays tech we have got to be close to the day when members from wherever should be able to participate in every meeting via the introvertnet, but then there is the local/tourist angle, different issues/wants etc.

It is a touchy situation especially with all the pressure to take away our riding in favour of the heli/cat ski business's. (not 2 mention the caribou crowd).

I know a ton of locals and a ton of Alta's that dont respect shared space in the Backcountry. If we dont get our **** together soon we will lose alot of goods in the kootenays.

I'm moving to the inland coast 500 miles north of Vancouver and leaving u guys to set the precedents that I will have to deal with in 10-20 years (BTW Kitimat got 1.4 M last week).

SAWS Canada or something similar is our only hope.

I've been a member a couple of years, but not this one. I even bought a membership the year I didn't ride. I figured help the club cause I don't want to lose any riding areas!
I bought my membership for the savings on the trail pass. Also so the club had more members. I would think the more members the better the club looks.
Other years I bought my pass at the trail head. I know over the year I pay more. But again I thought for a few extra bucks why not help the club.
Is there somewhere we can get more info on the club and all it is involved with?
