Would like to thank the people responsible for this.

The notice with this email is a notice from the Ministry of Forests putting a closure on the Akolkolex Road (the road leading to the McCrae Mountain snowmobile area) during the week (open only on weekends) from Januuary 11 to March 26, inclusive.

This is due to irresponsible snowmobilers riding their sleds on a plowed industrial road while logging traffic was using the road. This posed an extreme danger to both sledders and equipment operators and a complaint was lodged with the Ministry of Forests by the company logging this area which has resulted in the closure. So you can thank those sledders. Do not blame the company or the loggers. If this continues on the Area 51 road, you can expect the same results there.

When a road is plowed and posted as such, it is illegal, not to mention dangerous, to drive your sled on the plowed road. The Akolkolex Road was post ed and we received a number of complaints last year, this year it has become more serious and we now have a closed road.

Hey there Sofa King,
i sure hope things have changed and people are abiding by these simple rules that could save there lives as they really don't stand a chance with a loaded logging truck coming down the mountain on slippery roads with a load on.Let us know how things are going.

Cheers,
Dave
