Rev Dpm

A riding buddy bought a used rev this summer and we finally got to take it to the mountains. It ran very well here at 1100' but at 8 to 10,000' it would not rev up. I think either the dpm is bad or had ice in it. The plugs were wet all the time and in powder he was only pulling 6 to 6500 R's. Even on a hardpacked trail it would not get over 7000. We changed plugs, checked all the hoses, turned the clickers to 6, and made sure the air flow was good. We got home, back down to 1100' and it ran great. Is there anyway to check the dpm? I assume there must be a air temp and barimetric pressure sensor incorperated into the system, could it be a sensor failed? The sled was put together using a 03 800 and put into a 05 sled.
One more question, how do you get the secondary clutch apart?

Not sure if the DPM rail is the same as my 01 was or not. My problem was with the electric "exciter" in the bottom of the manifold. It's basically just a plunger that opens and closes, letting the air flow from the air box to the manifold. Mine wedged itself open, so it was getting waaayyy too much air and wiped the piston. Perhaps yours is wedged closed, or not opening?

my 01 run the same when it was new. when I got back from my first trip took it to the dealer and the dpm was cracked. mine would run better than yours but fouled plugs and sucked gas.:)
