REV diet.. twice in 1 year!

K, so i need some ideas on where to lose a couple more pounds on my 05 rev. Heres what iv done so far:
Mountain tamer skid, ice age rails
06 X seat
no tunnel rack or lights
no foam/swaybar/idlers
HPS can
Vented panels
I also have lexan panels for it but i dont use em much..

Iplan to pick up a barkbuster front end this summer*

I thought i would be good for this winter but my partner just destroyed his hood and what not so hes gettinga lexan hood and timbersled intake so about another 18lbs off his already slim M7  lol so i need tips to stripping the REV down more! Headlights coming out tonight for PIAA or something of that nature

Dont take this the wrong way, but if you can sell your sled and buy a Xp You will be way ahead. I had a Rev with almost every light weight part and Xp is light from the start and that m7 wont even be close. JMO.

^x2!! Throwing a bunch of money at your old Rev STILL won't compete with the XP....

thanks for the input guys but if i really wanted an XP i would get one. iv ridden a 146 and a 154, loved em both but its not sturdy enough, in the time i rode it it had bent running boards and Aarms bent, that was in marsh riding, no stumps or trees. Im not interested in an XP, havent been beat by one, so dont care to buy one

Ski's, airbox, pipe, electric starter and battery LOL:face-icon-small-win

aparently the pilot skis are 4lbs lighter than the sidehillers, a timbersled intakes another 4 lbs. ceramic coating the pipe might get me a couple lbs. Probly just gonna do these things. Iv got enough venting, ill be okay running pods.

slydog skis are lighter than pilots and are a good powder ski. have you ported your track? thats a couple pounds and some rotating mass. you could remove boggie wheels and use scratchers, thats another couple pounds. you could also get some snow elimintaors to reduce the amount of snow you carry when you ride.

Ditch the sidehillers and go with the pilot 6.9's!!

Those sidehill style skis are a peice of $hit! I swapped out the sidehill skis on the "wife's" '04 800 X and went with the pilot 6.9's. The pilots dont have the aluminum bridge and are a "one" peice ski. I also only run one carbide per ski rather than two per ski and you are totally right. They weigh a hell of a lot less than the sidehill skis. You won't be disappointed!

Thanks! i like the slydogs and i really dont have a problem with the sidehiller as skis arent a big issue as far as ergo's go with me but i do hate the way they look and if sloydogs are lighter ill probly pic a set up. I have no idlers and what not as stated above i run a timbersled skid and ice age rails, only have the 2 wheel kit as far as wheels go in my skid. I may try to find a decent pilot ski that i like as i dont wanna pay too much on skis. Thanks guys! Iv got this completely stock motor wise REV 151 pulling 2 sled lengths against 800 assaults drag racing from start to end, im pretty happy with it.

Throwing the BS flag

Sold my 08 800XP, picked up an 07 800REV Summit X 159, climbs like a home sick angel, carvs like a REV.

You never learned how to master the XP then. My buddy has a built 07 159 X, and it climbs like a banshee, until the motor went. He still was only competing with the XPs, not beating them. NOT gonna be the case for an '05. Upgrade is worth it when you are looking at 3 years of technology.

A pipe and holz rear w/2 wheel kit (8") and a ported track will shave some weight.

yep already got the skid, i know you want me to get an XP butta but its not happening. Im not competing with XP's im competing with a worked M7... I dont wanna ride a sled that folds when i hit something not major. Yes the sleds faster, yes it side hills easier than my rev and maybe it even works better (even though im a firm believer that the original powder max is a better track and get around better) but i dont want a weak sled, if i buy anything new its an M8. I just got this thing clutched finally and its an all new monster. This will be the last skidoo ill own for a while.

Now, i removed the headlight and got some little lights, didnt plan on removing that shield, id like to keep the exhaust heat and what else away since im doing the timbersled intake now. Gonna be putting mesh where the headlight used to be**

How much weight does the boss seat save over the 440 seat? Also iv got float shocks all around already. Im gonna ceramic coat the pipe also. This may not beat the almighty XP but its reliable for me. I dont need to get a new sled every year just because its whats new, hell i drive a 72 mustang, its simple, some people still like em, and im not making payments:p

PS Watch this: iv been staring at the nextech A arms lol they look pretty sweet, but the barkbuster doesnt seem like a bad idea, well see this summer when i get around too getting the front susp. Thanks guys!
