Rev caught fire. time to fix.

I know many people have done this, so what did you have to replace?
Its not mine but my buddys 06 800. Brake was left on, or it seized and it caught fire on the trail right before the alpine.

Looks like the K&Ns are ok. I only looked at it quickly but Im guessing a good start would be to order oil tank, Brake line, complete Brake system and replace some electrical that melted.

Whats your experience? or knowledge?

Thanks again.

what to replace

My friend let his friends kids ride his sled and they almost did the same thing. The sled never caught fire but I had to replace the Brake line, Coolant hose that runs behind the rotor and protection sleeve, the rotor, and the pads, just from the heat that was caused. Since you had an actual fire I'm sure your list is bigger. Think about the seals in the drive case too if the fire was near that area.
Good luck with all the repairs, fire can be the worst.

parts

I have a complete brake system from a x package rev. Has the upgraded rotor and caliper and braided hose. I also have the chaincase seals and bearings. coolant hoses I would buy new. If it was my sled I would eliminate the oil injection at this point. I have the parts to do this as well. PM me if interested. or call Travis at 509 548 7532

funny
everyone says the 06 is the "best" year REV
mine is an 06....been a month since my fire and sled still not fixed

over $4600CDN in damages and they are fixing it
i get a free BOSS seat as a result, but thinking of selling now

seems I see another REV fire thread every week or so....and a majority are 06
WAY to address the issue BRP........

and my brake was NOT left on......lever stuck and lit up like a x-mas tree

my fire was pretty minimal as well - quite a but of damages and almost zero electrical was burned

have fun dude

could have been wrose...

heres the aftermath of mine
doesnt look to bad, but she was borderline a write off

In 95% of these cases the damage goes far beyond what is visible and you really should have the insurance co. get involved... unless your friend had no insurance?

Have FUN!

alright thhanks for the help guys!
Well start with the brake system and oil tank and go from there. get it running and see what else it needs. Might be in contact with you for those parts.

thanks again!

I bought my 07 at a salvage yard from a engine burn, almost identical damage to your photo. I replaced the...
Oil tank.
brake line.
Starter Cord
Starter handle trim
caliper and pads (seals were bad afterwards)
coolant line (and the split loom cover)
fuel line (and the split loom cover)
Used a torch to get the burnt foil off the panels.

Totally worth it.
Now the sled is a Hoss!
