So I bought a Cat 900 motor had it installed in my VA Rev chassis. I am stoked thinking about the torque and think this will be a fun combo. Fired her for the first time last week and hope to get on snow this weekend for first test / tune ride. I ride 3-7k elevations.
The starting point is:
SLP single for Cat 900 custom fit. SLP can
Doug Ruth porting (designed to improve low and mid range torque)
Mains: 420ish (350 mains w/power jets turned out 3)
13:1 head cut
19-43....8 tooth 2.86.
Clutching.. Cat primary / TEAM secondary set to Fastrax specs.
162"x 2.25" 2010 XP track
With the torque these motors made stock, then adding the head cut and torque based porting, this thing should be a boondocking dream!! (if we can get it set up right)
I'm posting to show it off and to get any tips / advice from the experienced Cat guys. Already have a few great jetting tips to help with lean mid range... thank you! I'm new to Cat motors... tuning in general. Any help / advice appreciated.
