reuse o rings..???

iam gonna have to do a rebuild on the 900 this summer as the compression is around 120, 115 pto, so iam just wondering what i should do, whether or not to reuse the head gasket o rings or get new ones i've read somewhere that its ok to reuse them as well as the base gasket.....???
and what about motor mounts should i replace them while iam in there?

and does anyone have a detailed thread on here to remove the motor? looks like a pain in the a$$

oh ya, its an 06

I have an 800, but I have torn down my motor several times and reused the o rings and base gasket when necessary. If you are planning on a rebuild, I would order a new base gasket and o rings. The 800 topends aren't that bad but I haven't worked on the 9's.

It's not to hard to remove the 900 engine. Disconnect your fuel filter and tank line, remove your gas tank so you can unplug your stator and injector wires. Pull your primary clutch off. Take the engine mount bolts off, 3 bolts on each side I think, 2 bolts go in each side of the front mount plate and the rear mounts on each side of the engine. I also took off the oil tank because it was my the way. Remove coolant sensor, throttle cable and tie off your recoil rope. Drain your coolant, I pulled the hose off by the right foot well.

Sledude I'm not bashing you but you sound like the 18 yr old car guys that talk about yanking a 350 out and throwing in a big block , your absolutly correct just that I hate taking em out; they suck. As for gaskets , IMO once it's out tear it all down and reseal the case and use new everything, plus to me the most inportant thing on a 755 or 900 is to take your time on install and really seal the intake to keep the crap from entering the motor.PS don't forget to washer the head bolts if it's an 05.
