Replacing sway bar.

Have a 2009 RMK that I tore the right front A arms off of and bent the sway bar bad. Cut the bar to get it out. Am looking for info on how to get the new one in. All help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Danny

I think the 09 has the older style. If so, you have to grind off the rivets (one on each side underneath that holds the plastic bushing and remove the two nuts for the clamps (2 on each side), then pull and wiggle. It will come out. Back in should be about the same, then re-install the bushing with new rivets and reinstall the clamp nuts and your done. Not as bad as it sounds once you get into it. You will have to have the A-arm loose to reinstall the swaybar ends easily. Good luck! Sounds fun:tongue1:

Just re-read you post. If the old one is out you will still need to remove the bushing and clamp to reinstall the new one.

For the 09 it will be a little different if it is a basic RMK (Ryde FX Coil overs) or a Dragon (has the Walker Evans shocks). The Dragon will have a linked sway bar while the RMK is a one piece with bushing at a-arm.

This info is mostly for parts ordering, there is a difference.

Both should come out and go back in real easy. The rivets mentioned above should actuall be 6mm studs with lock nuts if I remember right.

Might have to take out 1 shock mount to get the sway back into the a-arm. This is the 09 RMK bar just before wiggling it out.

This is the 09 Dragon, look just below the upper/forward a-arm mount and you'll see the sway bar mounting saddle with the 6mm stud & nut.

Good luck. EW

Thanks crf118r

Thank you for the pics. and info. Just did not want to get in to deep before I had some idea on what to do and how.
Thanks again.
Danny

If you need the standard (non-linked) RMK swaybar, I have one. Its like in the pic above. Let me know. EW
