Rental Rates

Investigating trips and considering flying into Denver and driving to location such as Grand Lake. Checking on rental rates and most are $220 a day for a 600. Is this pretty standard pricing for CO?

Also if you are aware of locations that have rental/lodging together please recommend.
Experienced riders, just getting tired of the 20 hour drives.

Thanks

yes call ON THE TRAIL RENTAL for a sled. i am going in FEB, and he quoted me a price of $175 a day for sled. they do not have insurance that you can buy, so be prepared to pay for sled repairs before you leave town. even if you have coverage from your own sled policies like i do. you will still have to pay for the damages before you leave and then go back after your insurance to get repayed.

here is where we are staying in town. i was quoted 135 a night for 3 nights stay, but if we stay 2 nights the 3rd night is free, and if we stay 4 days like we plan then the 4th night should be 50% or more off. you can find cheaper rooms at the motel part of their property but i wanted my own area to sleep in.

the bars and food are about 2 blocks or so from the cabins they have and there is a massage business right next door. it's called SAGE massage. she is like $60 for an hour and half i think. not a bad price after a hard day of riding. also you can ride from your room on the public streets, it's legal, they don't plow there roads for that reason. just don't drink and ride in town, a local told me the cops got nothing better to do than bust out of towners.

by the way where are you from that it takes you 20 hours to get there???

hope this helps mike-nebraska

forgot to tell you if you rent from nick at on the trail rentals that he allows you to take the sled into town and keep it over night if you arre renting for a couple days at a time, so that way you don't have to be back at a set time to return sled each night.
that is a bonus in itself.
thanks mike

Give me a call at Thunder Mountain Lodge, I have just what you want to do. Fly into Grand Junction or Montrose and we pick you up. Full Bar and restaurant, new cabins, 16 new mountain rental sleds, guides if needed, and some of the best riding in CO. About six hour total flight time from Madison, Twin Cities or Chicago. Prices less than GL also. Thanks, Mark 970-856-6240 www.thundermountainlodge.net

Rentals are high just about everywhere. I'd say at least $225 a day for a 600 mountain sled. Trail machines or crossover machines a little less. All the rental places in Grand County are a ride in and out sort of deal, you rent there, you ride there, except one. So if Grand Lake has no snow, then you can't take your sled to another location. Grand Adventures in Winter Park does unguided rentals up Corona Pass. On The Trail does unguided in Grand Lake. Trailblazer in Fraser only does guided tours. These places will only offer a 600 as their biggest mountain sled. Five Star in Granby is a pick-up or drop off where ever you want to take the sleds kind of deal. Five Star has the only 800 mountian sleds you can rent and take anywhere that i know of as well.

give me a call at five star, 970-531-4053, my name is zach. i rent 600's and 500's at grand lake or on a trailer in granby for $189/day and that includes trailer. i'll give multi day discounts as well. we're right on hwy 40 in granby and super easy to find. if you know what your doing, i'll rent you an 800cc mountain sled for $265/day, trailer included. as mentioned above, you can ride our sleds at corona pass, churchs park, grand lake, rabbit ears pass, or anywhere else you wanna ride. if you stay in grand lake, we'll gladly bring the sleds to your hotel and you can ride right from main street to the trail system!

What are your sleds this year?

Have the 4-Ski Doo 2up touring sleds, 2-Yamaha Phazer MTX's, - purchase new last year and just picked up 5 2011 Yamaha Nytro MTX's. I had a 2008 Nytro when they first came out and I was less than impressed but rode a 2010 Nytro last year and it was like night and day so we picked up on the 2011 Nytro's to rent this year. They have really came a long way in 3 years and for rentals the 4 stroke reliability can't be beat.

Hit up Mark at Thunder Mountain Lodge for sure. Stayed there last year for a trip. Couldn't have asked for a better time. Sled rentals, lodging, bar, great service, and powder riding minutes from the cabin. What more can you ask for. :D

Wanna show up to a place with everything ready to go, and get treated like an old friend....this is the spot.

Doesn't hurt that the riding is top notch too!

I agree here. If you want some great endless riding, the Mesa will work great. I haven't ridden Grand Lake much, but from what I hear, the Mesa is better.

That rate is normal for a 600. I've seen the rate lower, but most places consider the 600 their "performance" sled. The best deal I know is the Extreme place that rents M8's for under $200.

Nice. I can't say I blame you for going with 4-strokes for your rentals. Way easier to maintain for you. What are your rates? All I really care about are your Nytro's.

I'm sure we'll plan another trip up to your place this year.

Is your fuel oxygenated (ethanol)?
