What happens when you pack 1000 die-hard sledheads into a state-of-the-art theater, have the stage filled with newest snowmobiles and custom mods out this year, roll 2 full-length snowmobile films and play clips from other sled films on a huge screen with one of the baddest sound systems on the planet...
and do it all in one of the top resorts in the West?

You get the RENO SNOWMOBILE FILM FESTIVAL 2008 at the Grand Sierra Resort & Casino!!!

Folks, the turnout to this event was jaw-dropping. The night went off without a hitch and the vibe in the place was electric. It was a great night for the sport of snowmobiling and with the first snow falling on us Friday night...the perfect way to get the season started.

None of this would have happened if not for Jeff 'King of the Hill' Schauer...period. This guy is a marketing Jedi that brought the event together with amazing sponsor support. Thanks to Sierra Sport & Marine, Arctic Cat, Cope & McPheters and the GSR for believing in us and helping this night come to life. We are already planning next year's event with more film screenings spread out over a two-day period.

Thanks to everyone who came to Reno including the guys from Team Boondockers (Dan Gardiner, Phatty Dyer and Ryan Nelson) and from Team Thunderstruck (Dan Bush, Mark Mesenbrink and Lyle Sinden).

The raffle raised over $3000 for the Blair Morgan Foundation and the California/Nevada Snowmobile Association. A huge thanks to the people that donated the prizes that made the raffle possible: 509 Films, Thunderstruck Films, Hellclimber Films, HMK, FLY, RSI, Arctic Cat, West Coast Sleds, FOX, Slydog Skis, B-Wear Vests and CalStar.

I've put some pics up from the show...enjoy...and we'll see you in Puyallup this weekend!

Wow !! You guys had such a great event.

All I got to do this weekend (for fun) was paint the odd house at the cabin.

Looks like an awesome time, would have loved to be there instead of fixing some plumbing this weekend!

Did Officer Dangle have to bust anyone for noise violations in their hotel room?

Fun night

I had a GREAT time and peep there were off the hook.:face-icon-small-coo It was nice to see so many peep there and how many of them I know. Had a nice group come over the mtn from NC. I sat with Mortgage Paul. It was the first time I've seen him in 5 years or so.

My HAT is off to KING. If you need some thing done and done right he's the man to DO IT.

Thanks to the Grand Sierra Resort & Casino for putting this on and all the companys and dealer that had displays and raffle prizes. I'm not sure but I think MY dealer Tom of Tom's Snowmobile & Service in Sierra City donated the grand prize of Fox shocks for the raffle. (Great job Tom)

All in all LOVED it.:beer;:beer;:beer;

Sorry so late !!!

!!!WOW!!!

Where to start......

I had an unfortunate distraction and haven't been able to give the proper attention and a HUGE thanks to all the people that spent the time, money and commitment to the success of this event. YOU GUYS supported the sport and the vision.

I can't echo Jeff's comments enough about the ENORMOUS support from the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino..... FIRST CLASS, the help from Chris, Alex, Lou and the entire audio lighting and video crew.... sheez the list goes on. Short story, it was like Christmas when I finally had the chance to show Jeff and the Team Summit crew what we had been working on. Myself, Jeff Teeter, my son (which by the way was his 18th birthday and I still forgot to wish him a Happy B-Day while I was on stage) and the Sierra Sport and Marine crew had been working tirelessly on the setup and had sleds and equip up and set and thought we were done.... When we got in Saturday with Jeff and the crew from Thunderstruck and guests the Grand Sierra Resort crew had that stage lit up and it took on a life like I had never seen.... it sent chills up my spine to see the excitement in everybody's eyes and hear it in their voices. The support from Sierra Sport and Marine, Polaris, Arctic Cat and Cope and McPhetres Marine was insurmountable. In addition to all of that we had a plethora of alcohol being served up and not one unruly sledhead.... (that was a blessing!) and the monies raised for Blair Morgan and the CNSA had to be in the running for "not what we expected". The other wonderful corporate support from EXPN (Tim Mutrie), Boondockers, Thunderstruck, 509, Fox (Lars), Parts Unlimited, Hex-Armor Science of Safety, Hellclimbers, Tom's in Sierra City, Sly Dog, Too-Cool, True Adventure Gear, BeeWear, Kirk at HMK, Fly, West Coast Sleds, Cal-Star, RSI my gosh the list is huge..... EVERYBODY had a key role in this flying the event into the stratosphere.

My personal Thanks to Jeff & Jill Aiello for taking the time to add the total professional sealing of the deal by providing the absolute most professional print media and electronic media I have had the pleasure to spread! To have the "voice of ESPN" as a voice over was SICK to put it lightly. For those who have had the opportunity to hear the development of this event, I reiterate the significance of having Jeff on the offensive line right next to me and screening the shortfalls, without his belief that this was do-able it would have never come full circle. For all of my close personal freinds I am truly sorry I didn't have the time I wished to enjoy your company, especially after traveling the distances you did to support this event, BUT I can tell you lesson learned I WILL HAVE A ROOM NEXT YEAR for the MOTHER OF ALL TAIL-GATES the night before!!

PLEASE POST PIX IF YOU HAVE EM

THERE WILL BE A NEXT YEAR!!
And it promises to be bigger better and more spectacular than ever!

:D
