Removing some carbide

Hi,
I'm a newbee, with just a couple of rides so far. I put new carbide runners on my 98 indy 500 and made the mistake of getting the roetin XPR1 w/ 6 1/2 of carbide. My track is not studded and the ride is terrible (Darting and jerking on packed trails). I checked the alignment and adjusted the suspension, did not help.
My question is can a use a green grinding disc and remove 1" from the front and 1" from rear of each carbide section?

Thanks, David

I've got a 9" HD grinder & I've tried... that stuff is TOUGH.

It takes a lot of work just to get a sharp edge off of it (was tearing up my sled deck), taking off an inch would be a beeeeoootch.

Thanks,
I never considered shims, I will try it next weekend. The darting has been driving me crazy.
Thanks, David
