Removing Drag Link from Steering Post??

Im trying to take the broken steering post out of my 07 Dragon RMK, and cant get the drag link off the steering post. Everytime when I try to turn the nut off the whole thing turns with it. What can I do to hold it back? Thanks

I thought somebody said underneath there is an allen head if that makes any sense. or vise grips cause there is a lip there. Let me know cause i need to tighten mine

I don't know if that bolt has an allen on the bottom or not. Even if it did, it would still be way more difficult to get in there and hold it with the motor in. A crows foot on a 12" extension is the perfect tool for this job.

The crows foot holds the bolt. There are flat sides on it above the ball joint. You use a regular socket on the nut and the crows foot on the bolt.

What he said... The rod end on the lower steering post is the same type as the tie rod end on the ski-spindle.

I cut a wrench in half and welded the open end to a piece of round stock about three feet long ,then bent it to fit the two flats on the bolt , then i took a long extension and a swivel socket for the nut. i only had to take the air box out, it wasn't fun but it can be done:face-icon-small-hap
