remove the wheels? oooor no?

I took mine out and added scratchers . . zero problems so far . . I only need to use the scratchers when the trail is icy. Besides slides are cheap to replace and it's an easy way to lose 2 lbs. $700 for floats up front is an expensive way to lose 2 lbs :)

Really if you have ever changed a pair of slides When you have run the wheeles, you will notice that the only place they don't wear is where the wheeles are , e verything else wears.

If you have a big paddle track tou will need some type of lubrication, on an icy trail anyway(icescratcher),

Not that you loose a bunch of wieght, But for me personaly it is piece of mind knowing that i can Bomb down the trail as fast as i want, With my 174 2.5 paddle with nothing but the rear idler and scratcher, and get to the hils first.

Plus it seems to open up the rear suspention to allow less build up in it.

Hence the theory of a ported track too, now there is more wieght to be lost there too. and less rotating mass.;)

The theory also is that the side of your track can roll over when side hilling, allowing your sled to pull onto it's side easier and stay there. Much like running a big wheel kit with only 2 wheels in the centre.

I just put a two wheel kit on mine, rode today for the first time it feels different but was easy to get used too, the snow here has got hard due to warm weather and i had no problem side hilling on the other hand it felt more tipsy ,try it if you don't like change back.

So are u guys just pullin the wheels off, or taking the mounting brackets off as well. I'm wondering if leaving them on would be better for strenght on the rail. Any input would be appreciated

There's no strength in those brackets....only one bolt through the rail. If yer gonna lose the wheels, lose the brackets too.

I left mine on so far.....I already have a drawer full of the flippin things.
