Here is a remedy for a cracked hood, that will hold it together without the crack traveling any further. Use some 14 gauge colored stranded wire that will match or be close to the color of your hood. Drill holes that are NO bigger than the wire itself. Cut a long enough piece to be able to twist the other end together on the inside of the hood. This hood has been stitched together now for over two years with very hard riding. The one section was two difficult and fragile to pull together and stitch, but has not gotten any worse.
This was a great fix until I find another hood. The good thing is that nobody really knows that my hood is cracked once there is a little snow on it. At least if I crack the hood again I won't feel so bad. Just thought I would share that with you!
